Dr. Jimmy J. Davies Named 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient by Ferris State University

A multi-faceted academic background laid the groundwork for Dr. Davies’ professional journey. He completed his undergraduate studies at Ferris State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics, an Associate of Science in Physics, and an Associate in Applied Science in Land Surveying and Topographical Drafting, alongside a Certificate in Real Estate. Across four decades as an entrepreneur, he has translated this diverse expertise into a legacy of widespread influence. As the founder of MacMasters Computer Services, he provided specialized training to over 10,000 professionals spanning 12 states and more than 40 cities. His prestigious client roster has included NASA, SAS, Duke Medical University, and every branch of the United States Armed Forces.

Driven by a mission to leverage technology for community advancement, Dr. Davies went on to launch Every.Black, LLC—a membership network designed to elevate entrepreneurs through worldwide networking opportunities and technological empowerment. Furthermore, he co-founded the Black AI Consortium, an initiative dedicated to securing equitable representation and opportunities for historically underserved populations in the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence.

In recognition of his achievements, Dr. Davies was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the National Beauty Culturists' League. Beyond his professional endeavors, he is a dedicated father and grandfather, a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and an active congregant at the Southside Church of Christ located in Durham, North Carolina.

With this distinction, Dr. Davies joins an elite roster of past graduates celebrated for their exceptional leadership and dedicated service to society since leaving Ferris State University.
